Kiégő Izzók

The visual group Kiégő Izzók (’Glowing Bulbs’) grew up around the time of the turn of the Millennium, with the collective evolving from the vibrant underground Budapest party scene. Over years the group has become an important part of the Hungarian visual scene, employing diverse techniques and media to create complex and coherent works. Treating light as a tool they fill spaces and surfaces with content, using projected images (moving images combined with stills) to create virtual environments and fields of free association. Viewers are given the space to freely interpret these situations and explore their own individual narratives.

The key feature is to bring to life an entire environment. This is achieved by closely examining and reacting to the various elements of the event, such as music, space and theme, and combining these parameters, in doing so allowing them to interfere and interact with one other. In the past years the crew did numerous panoramic projections, live VJ performances, music videos and short films as well as installations at festivals, in galleries and museums in Hungary and other European countries (Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia).

The fields of competence include:

-          parties and live shows – reacting to the vibe

-          installations – reacting to the space

-          facade projections – reacting to the architecture

-          theater – illusions and spoken word on stage

-          motion picture – bindning things together

-          corporate events – professional entertainment
